Decorating the Bridal Suite

Decorating the bridal suite is the last official duty of any bridesmaid/groomsman. Mainly the responsibility of the Best Man and the Maid of Honor, its really something you want to make sure you do right because they will remember if you made an effort or not. That being said, its really easy if you plan in advance. The most important part is that it is romantic and relaxing.  Though weddings are romantic, they spent the entire day with other people – the first time they are really alone is when they get back to the room.

Flowers: Flowers are important in my opinion to make the room feel festive and romantic. This can be accomplished in many ways – If you’re close enough to those planning the wedding and they will be an accomplice, try to get flower petals from the florist. They will be delivered that day and are guaranteed fresh. You can get them from a local florist as well, and fake ones are even available at michaels if the bride/groom have allergies. More importantly, they are really beautiful sprinkled allover the floor and bathroom.

Candles – It is really easy to set the mood with well placed votive candles and it hardly breaks your budget. This is the night of all nights to have a ton of candles to make the room really romantic. If you can’t schedule someone to light them right before the couple comes in, just talk to the hotel in advance.  Candles are classic, traditional, and the perfect way to set a relaxing ambiance – you really can’t go wrong.

Dessert and Champagne: The final touch on the perfect wedding suite decoration is leaving some dessert and a night cap in the room. Most couples are mingling through their entire wedding and hardly have time to eat, so this helps them out and rounds out the night. Chocolates, cake or fruit are all good options and champagne (or some other cocktail) is REQUIRED. Its really their first private moment of the night and they’ll want to enjoy it. Again, if timing is tough, this is another instance where the hotel staff can be your accomplice if you can’t be there yourself.
